Raven Tale Revival Storytelling

Youth Service Project Coordinator

Contract Position

Now – March 31, 2023

Starting rate

$20 / hour, 30 hours a week


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and coordinate meaningful programming for young adults in our community.

Recruit, supervise and mentor youth volunteers participating in the project.

Help maintain website and blog and update social media accounts.

Administration, filing, reporting, and data management to track volunteer hours and progress.

Coordinate storytelling, theatre, filming events and activities with mentors.

Work alongside our senior staff to identify and address needs.

Maintain the cleanliness of our centers and abide by policies in place.

Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Understand and appreciate the complex Indigenous experience and Canada’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.

Knowledge of our local First Nations’ cultures and history as well as an understanding of how these unique cultures have been impacted by colonialism.

Experience or training in literacy, education, community development, digital production,

or theatre.

Exhibit an energetic and creative spirit, ethical approach to work, and willingness to try new ideas.

Ability to collaborate and work together as part of a team to accomplish identified goals.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, fluent in English, knowledge of other languages an asset.

Strong leadership, organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to plan, coordinate, inspire and take initiative.

Confident with a positive attitude and effective interpersonal skills.

Excellent computer skills: proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Suite.

Must be willing to undertake a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check as a condition of employment.


ASSETS:

Experience or training in literacy, education, community development, digital production,

or theatre

Ability to work independently without supervision

Excellent computer skills: MS office suite, e-mail, web applications and experience with Adobe Creative Cloud

Experience with blogging, website management and video editing
